Awards by Natalia Kryshtalevich

Natalia Kryshtalevich

“My story is simple – like many others. I have been drawing since childhood, but my parents did not support my studies. I stopped drawing for a long time, and I started again just a few years ago, not long before the war came to my country.
I’m not a realist artist, I don’t have much experience, but I support any desire I have to throw creativity out.
There is more creative energy in childhood. An adult needs to learn to be a child again.
I started working on this series twice, first I painted in oils, but then I realised that there was too little freedom in this. I wanted to become a little crazy artist. And I began to use mixed media, making a background from acrylic. I wanted all these pictures to be interconnected and imperfect. How imperfect our memories are. I took inspiration from my friends’ social media. The war scattered us all over the world, but each of us saw something beautiful in new places, these are mainly landscapes.
I dedicated one painting to dogs as indispensable companions of man, they often find themselves completely lost in this world.
I added gold drops to some of the paintings, they symbolise time, or rather precious seconds.”

PRESS RELEASE FOR IMEDIATE RELEASE

Celebrating the music in film

“This is an outstanding festival. The quality of films screened were of such a high standard. It was just great to be a small part of it. The festival staff & volunteers were so friendly, generous and extremely helpful. We will definitely go back to it next year.”
Maureen OConnell, Director, Actress and Producer

87 short films and music videos from all over the world for this edition to be screened in Cineworld and The Sugar Club

Live Music at The Sugar Club,,The Engels Share,, (Jeremy Engel and Mauve Robichez)
inviting you on a journey into an intimate, Irish-influenced folk-rock universe where sweetness and violent feelings are reconciled.
Their name, a nod to the famous expression “The Angels’ Share” evokes not only the invisible, mysterious part that slowly evaporates from whiskey barrels, but also their music, which distills emotions tinged with subtle aromas and complex flavors. The sounds slowly evaporate over the course of the evening, leaving behind touching melodies and lyrics that resonate long after the concert is over.
The Engels Share offers its own compositions as well as rearranged covers (Rory Gallagher, Bob Dylan, Damien Rice, The Beatles, Glen Hansard, etc.).

“If folk music is about depth and delicacy and indie music excels at accessibility and infectiousness, then it is safe to say that Jeremy Engel walks a perfect line between the two camps”

Jeremy Engel
Jeremy Engel releases his debut single “I Don’t Want to Stay” in 2020. The song’s raw emotion serves as the perfect introduction to this new artist’s intimate narrative and adventurous soundscapes.

Mauve Robichez
Mauve has developed a personal sound universe, combining string instruments and electronic sounds, for which she has won several international awards as a composer for film. At the same time, she continues to play live violin with The Engels Share.
Mauve is at your disposal for any collaborative film music projects.
